At the start of my Senior year in High School, I came up with the idea of creating a STEM Outreach Club with my friends. In my city, there were no specific clubs established to bring STEM enthusiasts together under one. This club not only brought STEM minds together but also acted as a platform for them to be able to share STEM-related topics, experiments, and more with each other. This also acted as a platform to increase the interest of the underprivileged youth of our city towards STEM topics, who may not have been exposed to such topics before, through multiple demonstrations and experiments.

This initiative was also focused on trying to help increase the number of women in STEM fields and trying to promote all genders into STEM fields as in India, the STEM fields were usually dominated by men. We wanted to remove the taboo placed upon women as many parents would discourage their daughters from pursuing STEM fields, and instead force their daughters to pursue more ‘feminine’ careers instead of pursuing their dreams.
