Participating in the LRIMUN conference was an enriching experience that significantly enhanced my understanding of international relations and diplomacy. Representing the delegation of Argentina in the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), I engaged in critical discussions surrounding the refugee crisis and the human rights of displaced individuals. Our agenda focused on addressing the urgent needs of refugees and developing actionable solutions to protect their rights. One of my proudest achievements during the conference was creating a bloc of South American countries, which allowed us to present a unified resolution addressing the refugee crisis. This collaborative effort was instrumental in ensuring that our proposal was comprehensive and reflective of regional perspectives. Our resolution, which emphasized humanitarian aid and legal protections for refugees, stood out among others and ultimately became the only one to pass. Receiving the High Commendation award was a testament to our hard work and dedication. This experience not only sharpened my public speaking and negotiation skills but also deepened my commitment to advocating for human rights on a global scale. I left LRIMUN inspired to continue pursuing a career in international relations, driven by a passion for making a positive impact on vulnerable populations.
